Service Fees and Pricing
Hangar Direct charges service fees to support platform development, secure payment processing, customer support, and ongoing maintenance. As an open marketplace, hangar owners set their own rates. Hangar Direct applies a service fee on top of the listed price. Here is how fees work for both sides of the platform.
1 - Fees for Pilots and Aircraft Owners
Service fees for renters are calculated as a percentage of the total booking amount and are applied at the time of booking confirmation.
- Daily (Nightly) Bookings: A 15% service fee is added to the total booking amount.
- Monthly Bookings: A reduced 5% service fee is applied to the total booking amount for long-term rentals.
These fees cover secure payment processing, platform access, customer support, and the tools you use to search, communicate, and manage your bookings.
2 - Fees for Hangar Owners
Hangar Direct keeps costs low for owners to encourage more listings and broader availability across the marketplace.
- Rental Payouts: A 3% service fee is deducted from your rental income at the time of payout.
- For Sale Listings: Listing a hangar for sale is always free. There is no commission on completed sales.
3 - Promotion Packages
All hangar listings can be promoted for increased visibility. Promotion packages include homepage placement, social media advertising, and access to a professional marketing team for custom ad designs and campaigns.
- Bronze ($20/month): Homepage placement for 1 week per month. Up to 35x more exposure than a standard listing.
- Silver ($50/month): Homepage placement for 2 weeks per month, social media ads, and professional marketing support. Up to 80x more exposure.
- Gold ($100/month): Homepage placement for 3 weeks per month, social media ads, and professional marketing support. Up to 200x more exposure.
- Platinum ($250/month): Daily homepage placement, social media ads, and professional marketing support. Up to 600x more exposure.
- Diamond ($500/month): Daily homepage placement, social media ads, and professional marketing support. Up to 1,500x more exposure.
4 - Payment Processing
All transactions on Hangar Direct are securely processed through Stripe. Both renters and owners benefit from encrypted payment handling and fraud protection. Hangar owners connect a payout account through Stripe during account setup, and payouts are typically available for withdrawal five business days after the reservation check-out date.
5 - Cancellation and Refund of Fees
Hangar Direct service fees are non-refundable in all standard cancellation scenarios. Both hangar owners and renters may cancel a booking subject to the cancellation policy chosen by the hangar owner at the time of listing.
