Setting Up Your Aircraft Profile
A complete and accurate aircraft profile helps you find the right hangar faster and builds trust with hangar owners. This guide walks you through creating your profile, adding aircraft details, uploading insurance, and optimizing your visibility on the platform.
1 - Create and Verify Your Account
Visit hangardirect.com and click Get Started to create your account using your email, Google, or Facebook. After signing up, verify your account by entering the code sent to your email. This step confirms your identity and gives you full access to search, book, and manage your hangar reservations.
2 - Access Your Profile Settings
After logging in, click the profile icon in the top-right corner, select Account from the dropdown menu, then click the My Profile / Planes card. From here you can update your personal information, aircraft details, insurance documents, and payment methods.
3 - Add Your Aircraft Details
Enter the following for each aircraft you want to store:
- Make, model, and year: The manufacturer, model designation, and production year.
- Tail number and registration: For accurate identification during bookings.
- Wingspan, length, and height: These dimensions are used to filter hangar listings to spaces that fit your plane. If you are unsure of your exact measurements, use the Aircraft Footprint Calculator.
- Insurance documents: Upload your current insurance certificate directly to your aircraft profile.
If your aircraft has specific needs such as fuel type, power requirements, or maintenance access, communicate those to the hangar owner through the messaging feature before booking.
4 - Upload Your Insurance
Hangar Direct requires aircraft owners to provide proof of insurance upon request. Upload your current insurance certificate directly to your profile so it is ready when needed.
- Coverage details: Include your coverage type (liability, hull), effective dates, and policy number.
- OCR auto-extraction: The platform automatically reads uploaded certificates and extracts key details, reducing manual data entry.
- Status tracking: Your profile shows whether your insurance is valid, expiring soon, or expired. You will receive automated reminders before expiration.
Keeping your insurance current streamlines the booking process and builds trust with hangar owners.
5 - Optimize Your Profile
A complete profile gets better results:
- Fill every field: Profiles with complete information are taken more seriously by hangar owners.
- Add a description: A brief note about your aviation experience, what kind of hangar space you are looking for, and any special requirements helps owners assess fit quickly.
- Keep it updated: If you renew insurance, change aircraft, or update contact information, reflect those changes in your profile right away.
6 - Review and Save
Before saving, proofread all details for accuracy. Click Update to save your profile changes.
Note on checkout: During payment processing, the system matches your credit card transaction against your aircraft profile. Make sure your profile includes a verified tail number or identifies a featured aircraft. This matching step helps prevent discrepancies and ensures a smooth checkout experience.
