The Tenant Self-Service Portal
Every tenant on Hangar Direct gets a self-service portal: one place to sign leases, upload documents, pay rent, check waitlist position, and message the operator. Tenants get answers without waiting on office hours, and operators field fewer repeated questions by phone.
The tenant dashboard
The tenant dashboard opens with an "Action needed" card listing overdue payments, unsigned leases, leases awaiting acceptance, compliance documents needing attention, expiring leases, waitlist updates, and unread messages. Each row links directly to the page where the item can be resolved. Tenants with one facility see an inline overview; tenants at multiple facilities get a "My Facilities" card grid with status badges (Active lease, Lease pending, Waitlist position, needs attention).
A page for every facility
Each facility gets its own page with four tabs:
- Overview: cards for the lease, waitlist position ("N of M in line"), compliance ("N of M documents need attention"), and payment status.
- Lease: every lease with the facility, filterable by status (Signed, Sign Required, Awaiting Acceptance, and more).
- Compliance: every required document and where it stands.
- Payments: the full payment history for that facility.
A Message button in the header reaches the operator directly.
Guided lease activation
New leases walk the tenant through activation step by step: Review & Sign Lease with embedded e-signing (or Review & Accept when no signature is required), upload the compliance documents the facility requires, then Complete Payment, with Pay Now per payment and a Set up Autopay option for everything after.
Compliance documents
When a document falls short of a requirement, the tenant sees the operator's exact requirement sentence, for example "Requires $2,000,000. Your document shows $1,500,000", with a "Fix this" action next to each gap. Upload a replacement with "Choose file" (PDF, JPG, PNG, or WEBP, max 10MB) and Save. Expiring documents get advance warnings in-app, and tenant and operator see the same gap sentence.
Payments
Tenants manage cards and US bank accounts (ACH with instant verification or micro-deposits) under Payment Methods, and review every charge under Payment History with tabs for All / Paid / Refunded / Partially Refunded and CSV Export. Payment actions (Pay Now, Retry, and autopay setup) live on the lease detail page.
What operators get out of it
For operators, the portal is the other half of the platform's lease and compliance tools:
- Tenants sign, upload, and pay without staff walking them through each step.
- Compliance gaps are stated identically to both sides, which reduces clarification calls.
- Payment status, document status, and waitlist position are self-serve, which reduces status-check messages.
- Every conversation stays in the platform messenger, attached to the relationship.
